Massillon Steampunk Soiree poster
August 15th sees a Steampunk themed Ball being held at Massillon Museum, Massillon, Ohio. Called The Steampunk Soirée, the three hour event is to be held in the Main Gallery among civil war artwork borrowed from the Becker Collection.Attendees are encouraged to dress up for the event, but it’s not essential which keeps in with the steampunk ethos of not judging anyone because they’re not wearing steampunk. “Wear a Civil War ballgown, dress as an Airship Captain, or come in your contemporary party attire,” said Emily Vigil, the Museum’s events coordinator. However, there will be a “costume competition” with Civil War, steampunk, children’s, and adults’ categories. There will also be a vintage photo booth for people to use.
