Steampunk legends The Men That Will Not Be Blamed For Nothing have announced they will be playing at Whitby Goth Weekend this April 2017. According to a video announcement posted on the WGW Facebook page, they are playing on Saturday April 22nd. The same date as Abney Park.

Previously I mentioned Abney Park will be playing at the event and my observations on that caused quite a stir. Having TMTWNBBFN will increase the popularity of the music side of the festival with visiting steampunks. Hopefully this will be a step forward to cementing WGW’s statement that they welcome everyone to the weekend.

History

The Men That Will Not Be Blamed For Nothing have been around the steampunk scene for around eight years and have amassed a cult following in that time. The Facebook page jokes that their anachro punk style means they’re less steampunk and more steamPUNK. The band had some issues with their first album which was originally title Now That’s What I call Steampunk. However, EMI weren’t keen on that and the band had to change it. It’s now called The Steampunk Album That Cannot Be Named For Legal Reasons. The second album ‘This May Be The Reason Why The Men That Will Not Be Blamed For Nothing Cannot Be Killed By Conventional Weapons’ came out in 2012. The newest third album is called ‘Not Your Typical Victorians’ is out now

Their raw sound should hopefully fit in well at the festival which has now been operating for over 20 years.
