Thomas Willeford of Bruteforce Studios is to attend Whitby Steampunk Weekend, the organisers have announced.

For many years Thomas has been a well known face in the steampunk community. He first became interested in it in 1988 – one year after KW Jeter’s fabled letter to Locus magazine. So he has a wealth of experience, wisdom and skill to bring to the event. More recently he was a judge on the GSN show Steampunk’d sitting alongside Kato and Matt King. However, you may have seen his work previously. He provided the bionic arm for the Castle episode “Punked”. He was also a background extra.

At Whitby Steampunk Weekend, Thomas Willeford will be a very busy bee with a number of presentations, Q&As and book signings.

Whitby Steampunk Weekend

The first Whitby Steampunk Weekend is looking to be quite a stunning event. Aside from the goliath of steampunk making, there’s going to be over 70 stalls offering bespoke steampunk goods. The Dolphin public house is holding a Steampunk Murder Mystery, it’s been confirmed. There’s a ticketed event in the evening with performances from Alice’s Night Circus, Victor and the Bully, Professor Elemental, Gurdybird and Titi von Tranz. Velma Von Bon will host the whole night.

This looks to be a blinder of a weekend and could become my favourite event. You can visit the Whitby Steampunk Weekend Facebook page by following this link for more information.

You can book tickets for the Vaudeville evening with the talents of Alice’s Night Circus, Victor & The Bully, Professor Elemental and Gurdybird on the Whitby Pavilion website.
